Music and rhythm make language fun and memorable. Nursery rhymes and action songs introduce new words while reinforcing listening and pronunciation in a natural way. 

Talking with children — not just at them — is key. We encourage teachers and caregivers to engage in real conversations during snack time, free play, or outdoor activities, asking open-ended questions and patiently waiting for responses. 

Role-playing allows children to experiment with language in creative ways. Whether they’re pretending to be shopkeepers, doctors, or chefs, they use vocabulary, sentence-building, and storytelling naturally. 

In our classrooms, we label objects, actions, and even emotions to help children connect words with meaning. This builds vocabulary and helps them express themselves more clearly.
